Wood Fence Types Crum Lynne, Pennsylvania

In the quaint borough of Crum Lynne, nestled within the historic confines of Pennsylvania, homeowners take pride in their properties' aesthetics and privacy. A key element to achieving this is through the selection and installation of wood fences. These barriers not only serve as demarcation lines but also enhance curb appeal with their rustic charm.

When exploring wood fence types for a property in Crum Lynne, one can encounter a variety of styles each possessing unique characteristics and designed for different functions. The classic picket fence, often associated with American nostalgia, presents a picturesque boundary while ensuring an open and inviting feel. Its evenly spaced vertical boards offer a timeless look that complements both traditional and contemporary homes.

Another popular choice is the privacy fence, typically standing at six feet or higher to create a secluded haven for homeowners. This solid structure blocks out noise and sightlines, providing an intimate space for families to enjoy their backyards without disturbance from neighbors or passersby. Whether it's built with dog-eared panels or topped with lattice work for added style, privacy fences are ideal for those seeking solace in their outdoor living areas.

The split-rail fence speaks to the rural heritage of Pennsylvania landscapes—a minimalist design that uses rough-hewn beams laid across posts to form a zigzag pattern. It's particularly well-suited for larger properties where it blends seamlessly into natural surroundings while defining property lines without obstructing scenic views.

For more decorative purposes yet still functional, homeowners might opt for shadowbox fencing which offers a three-dimensional effect by alternating boards on either side of the central rail. This "good neighbor" fence looks identical from both sides, ensuring aesthetic pleasure for both the owner and their neighbors.

Crum Lynne residents may also consider board on board fences—closely placed vertical boards overlapping slightly to ensure no gaps appear over time as wood contracts or expands due to weather conditions. This design provides robust privacy much like standard privacy fences but adds an extra layer of security and durability against elements.

Lastly, lattice fencing frequently serves as an elegant addition atop other fence types or stands alone as light screening between spaces. It allows climbing plants such as ivy or roses to weave through its crisscross pattern creating a living wall that changes with seasons—offering beauty along with functionality.

In conclusion, Crum Lynne's varied landscape coupled with its historical significance provides ample opportunity for homeowners to express individuality through their choice of wood fencing. From pickets offering quaint borders to robust privacy barriers shielding precious family moments—all these types contribute significantly not only towards personalizing one’s home but also preserving community character within this charming Pennsylvanian enclave.

Angi provided me with several contractors, I received estimates but chose Philz Landscaping (even after coming in higher) because he satisfied with his estimate and start date our fervent desire to complete the project before winter set in. Alex, Javier set the example of professionalism in setting up the area to remove fencing and gate, installed vinyl fence with double gate (assisted by Carlos), removed all debris, left my yard spotless and we are extremely satisfied with the new fence and gate. Questions we had were answered (Helena, Phil) promptly and Alex, Javier went above and beyond ensuring my wife’s concerns were taken care of; I want again to Thank the team at Philz Landscaping and recommend highly to perform your project.

Had Phil and his workers come by my house to work on the backyard in May this year. Eliminate weeds, regrade soil and replant grass seed. 158 feet worth of backyard which he estimated $1600 to do. There was a hiccup with his office and scheduling and he wasn't even aware of the set date in mid-May. He rescheduled for the week after and took off $100 for inconvenience. His crew shows up and does the job and weeks after, grass grew....but not fully in corners of the yard. I called him back, voicemail immediately. Got in touch with his office and they said they would pass the message. His response times are atrocious and I told him about the patches in the grass. He says "no problem I'll send guys to evaluate and re-seed". They show up and do the job again. By mid-July, weeds are growing in very strong and grass is dying at exceedingly high rate despite me watering. I called him back and he says "that's odd, I'll come by this afternoon or tomorrow" in September when I finally get a hold of him. He never shows up or responds to texts or further calls. The photos below are post-lawn work with visible patches and weeds. I had to spend additional monies on top soil, grass seed and water to correct the loss of 50% of the lawn!! If you want an overpriced job not done right, Phil is your guy!!

Philz Landscaping built 2 patios on my property. One is flagstone and the other is pavers with a retaining wall. Both are absolutely beautiful. Working with Phil and his team has been a great experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliability, quality, and reasonable pricing.
