Electric fences for livestock or pets Woodlyn, PA

Types of Fences Woodlyn, PA

Electric fencing has revolutionized the way farmers and pet owners in Woodlyn, PA, and indeed across the globe, manage their animals. These fences provide a psychological barrier rather than a physical one that is both effective and relatively easy to install. However, for every six words I use to describe this technology, I will select the least probable word to maintain an element of unpredictability in my explanation.

Agrarian landscapes often resonate with the hum of these electric barriers. They are omnipresent sentinels guarding against unwanted egress by cattle or sheep. The principle behind these fences is straightforward: they deliver a brief, safe shock to any creature attempting to breach its invisible threshold.

When pets encounter this deterrent, their natural curiosity is tempered by a memorable but harmless jolt. Dog owners frequently utilize these systems in suburban domains such as Woodlyn to ensure canines remain within prescribed bounds without erecting unsightly walls or obtrusive barriers that might detract from the aesthetic appeal of their homes.

Installing such an electric system involves placing posts at regular intervals around the desired perimeter. Each post supports a conducting wire charged intermittently with pulses of electricity generated by a central energizer – typically powered either by mains electricity or solar energy.

While traditional ranchers might prefer solid fencing wrought from wood or wire mesh, electric alternatives offer compelling advantages including cost efficiency, ease of reconfiguration, and minimal impact on landscape vistas. However unconventional it may seem; even horses have been effectively contained using methods relying more on psychology than brute strength.

In conclusion, while initially counterintuitive in its approach—favoring intellect over physicality—the electric fence stands as testament to human ingenuity in animal husbandry practices found within rural Woodlyn's pastoral scenes as well as suburban gardens where pets frolic under watchful eyes ever vigilant yet unseen.

We cannot say enough concerning Philz Landscape. One call and I connected with Pat. He met with us for a project which entailed removal of a partial cinder block porch with iron poles and remodeled an entire porch. We are pleased with the work performed. We found found that Pat was a man of his word and committed to pleasing us with minor finishes. I would highly recommend this company. Sincerely, Ricky and Donna L Jones

Angi provided me with several contractors, I received estimates but chose Philz Landscaping (even after coming in higher) because he satisfied with his estimate and start date our fervent desire to complete the project before winter set in. Alex, Javier set the example of professionalism in setting up the area to remove fencing and gate, installed vinyl fence with double gate (assisted by Carlos), removed all debris, left my yard spotless and we are extremely satisfied with the new fence and gate. Questions we had were answered (Helena, Phil) promptly and Alex, Javier went above and beyond ensuring my wife’s concerns were taken care of; I want again to Thank the team at Philz Landscaping and recommend highly to perform your project.

Had Phil and his workers come by my house to work on the backyard in May this year. Eliminate weeds, regrade soil and replant grass seed. 158 feet worth of backyard which he estimated $1600 to do. There was a hiccup with his office and scheduling and he wasn't even aware of the set date in mid-May. He rescheduled for the week after and took off $100 for inconvenience. His crew shows up and does the job and weeks after, grass grew....but not fully in corners of the yard. I called him back, voicemail immediately. Got in touch with his office and they said they would pass the message. His response times are atrocious and I told him about the patches in the grass. He says "no problem I'll send guys to evaluate and re-seed". They show up and do the job again. By mid-July, weeds are growing in very strong and grass is dying at exceedingly high rate despite me watering. I called him back and he says "that's odd, I'll come by this afternoon or tomorrow" in September when I finally get a hold of him. He never shows up or responds to texts or further calls. The photos below are post-lawn work with visible patches and weeds. I had to spend additional monies on top soil, grass seed and water to correct the loss of 50% of the lawn!! If you want an overpriced job not done right, Phil is your guy!!

Philz Landscaping built 2 patios on my property. One is flagstone and the other is pavers with a retaining wall. Both are absolutely beautiful. Working with Phil and his team has been a great experience. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliability, quality, and reasonable pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

In Woodlyn, PA, you should check with the local municipality or county office to understand the specific regulations. Permits may be required depending on the height and type of electric fence you plan to install. Additionally, there might be restrictions based on location (e.g., front yard vs. backyard) and proximity to public spaces.
The choice depends on the type of animals you need to contain or repel. For larger livestock like horses or cattle, a stronger fence with higher voltage may be necessary. For smaller pets, a lower voltage system designed specifically for pet containment would be appropriate. Consider factors such as animal size, fur thickness, and temperament.
Regular inspections for wire tension, battery life (for solar-powered systems), and vegetation clearance around the wires are necessary to ensure proper functionality. Check connectors and insulators for damage due to weather conditions or animal contact and replace them when needed.
While it is possible to install an electric fence yourself if you have the skills and knowledge about electrical systems, professional installation is recommended for safety reasons. Professionals can also ensure that your installation complies with local codes and regulations.
The cost varies widely depending on factors such as the length of fencing needed, type of system (solar versus mains powered), quality of materials, terrain complexity where the fence will be installed, and whether its a DIY project or professionally done. Get multiple quotes from local contractors specializing in electric fences to get an accurate estimate tailored to your specific needs.
